Delete Your Account
We're sorry to see you go. Here's how to delete your OurCouple account and what happens when you do.
Option 1: From the App
The fastest way to delete your account is directly from the app:
- Open OurCouple
- Go to Settings (last tab)
- Scroll to the bottom
- Tap "Delete My Account"
- Confirm the deletion
Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted.
Option 2: By Email
If you no longer have access to the app, you can request account deletion by email:
- Send an email to contact@vynse.dev
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include the email address associated with your OurCouple account
We will process your request and delete your account within 30 days.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently deleted:
- Your account and profile information (name, email)
- All your messages and photos of the day
- All your shared moments and memories
- All your notes
- All your events
- Your daily question answers
- Your virtual pet data
- Your push notification tokens
- Your app preferences and settings
What Happens to Shared Content
Since OurCouple is a shared space between two partners:
- Content you authored will be removed from the shared space
- Your partner's own content remains in their account
- Your partner will be notified that you left the couple space
Data Retention
- All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- Anonymized crash logs may be retained for app stability purposes
- No personal or identifiable data is kept after deletion
Important Notes
- Account deletion is permanent and irreversible
- Because your content is encrypted, we cannot recover it after deletion
- If you have an active premium subscription, please cancel it through your app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) before deleting your account to avoid future charges
